I REALLY want red lowlights in my blonde hair.....How can I do this at home? - spice kits

I really want to do without a kit ..... Can I color all the spices, or something similar to your hair? I've heard, then place the red wine vinegar in a comb and brush through your hair works. Is that true? Help please!
